A day in Radboud University
Radboud University is the best traditional general university in the city of Nijmegen in Netherlands. What is a “traditional” university? The Netherlands has fourteen universities (united under the VSNU flag), six of which are referred to as ‘traditional, general universities’, as the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences (including medical sciences) are represented here. In addition to Radboud University, these universities are in Groningen, Leiden, Utrecht and Amsterdam (VU and UvA). Information: Visit Website
Location
Radboud is a state university specializing in research. It is located in a beautiful and quiet area in the city of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Here, most of the students ride bicycles. This is the most convenient and used transport in the Netherlands. I really liked the city of Nijmegen and I wrote a separate blog post about it. See more about Nijmegen. I visited this university while I was on a four-day trip to the Netherlands. See my other posts about the cities that I visited in Netherlands: Amsterdam, Nijmegen, Eidhoven and Rotterdam.
Facilities
The university has a sports center, an art teaching hall, a huge lecture hall.
What impressed me was that it also has its own library and its own cafeteria.
There is a special building in Radboud where they teach social sciences.
Interior Design
I am impressed by the modern design of the university. It has a very pleasant atmosphere.
The materials and colors are selected very carefully and with great precision.
The spaces are open and very high, which creates a feeling of space.
There is enough space in the library for each student to read and not to be disturbed by his colleague next to him.
Thank you so much for reading this post. I hope you found it useful.
